About Thomas

 Thomas Gaskin

Thomas is a PhD student in Mathematics. He is particularly interested in the study of the topology and dynamical properties of networks using stochastic modelling. He uses Utopia to investigate network properties and analyse social network dynamics, with a focus on the formation of information bubbles.

 Benjamin Herdeanu

PhD Physics | Utopia Maintainer | IT-Security Consultant
About Benjamin

 Benjamin Herdeanu

Benjamin is interested in the study of evolutionary games on dynamic networks. He used Utopia in his PhD project on the emergence of cooperation in evolutionary social interaction networks. Within the Utopia, he mainly develops graph functionality, develops data processing and visualization tools, and implements academic teaching models.

 Harald Mack

PhD Student | Utopia Maintainer
About Harald

 Harald Mack

Harald uses Utopia to study the coupling between evoling populations and a dynamic environment, employing agent-based modelling. Within the Utopia project, he develops mainly the C++ data-I/O module.

 Lukas Riedel

Postdoc | Utopia Maintainer
About Lukas

 Lukas Riedel

Lukas initiated Utopia as a toolset for modeling complex adaptive systems in modern C++. Although he has not used Utopia for his own research, he co-developed the Utopia C++ library and remains project maintainer.

 Yunus Sevinchan

Postdoc | Utopia Maintainer
About Yunus

 Yunus Sevinchan

Yunus uses Utopia to study evolutionary systems and collective dynamics. He believes that modeling-based research profits substantially from comprehensive tools. In Utopia, he thus focusses on integrating the various facets of computer modeling and reducing friction in the scientific workflow.

 Julian Weninger

PhD Student | Utopia Maintainer
About Julian

 Julian Weninger

Julian studies the morphogenesis of biological tissues driven by active motion and deformation of the cellular agents. To him, Utopia provides a guiding framework to design and evaluate coupled models ranging in spatial and temporal scales from sub-cellular processes over cell-cell interactions to tissue wide morphogenesis.

Prof. Kurt Roth

Institute of Environmental Physics, Heidelberg University
About Kurt

Prof. Kurt Roth

Kurt Roth initiated and developed the course Chaotic, Complex, and Evolving Environmental Systems, and supervised some 50 BSc- and MSc-projects along that line. In most of the projects, numerical models of specific topics within the larger field were constructed, explored, and analyzed. Out of the resulting richness arose the idea to build a uniform base: Utopia.
